Startup Society Founders' Awards
The catalyst for success begins with a thoughtful foundation.
A Society Lab in our Discord community will be available for founders to discuss and get answers about their society concepts, with select Advisors and the community participating in the discussion.
Once the submission date closes, pitches will be voted on by the Jur community to shortlist the top 10 startup societies. The best pitches have a shared purpose that is desirable, feasible, and viable.
The shortlisted ten society founders will be evaluated by the judges after a week of refining and fine-tuning their pitches. In the final event, the judges will announce the top five startup societies.
Founder’s Journey
Step 1
Submit Proposal
Even if 5 seconds ago you had no idea that you might actually be considering this, sign up in 2 minutes and instantly receive an email with all the details– then you can decide.
Step 2
Join The Society Lab
Your startup society concept will be shared in the society lab in Discord where you can share ideas, ask questions, get inspiration, and meet like-minded founders (including the advisors).
Step 3
Create The Pitch [ Deadline: March 30 ]
Use Google Slides, a video selfie, a one-pager, a business plan, or however you prefer to present your startup society.
Step 4
The Community Shortlist
When the deadline is up, a Committee formed by the Jur community will shortlist the pitches to the top ten through a vote. We will make this process as decentralized as possible.
Step 5
Iterate On The Pitch [ Deadline: April 7 ]
The community, advisors, and Jur core team members collaborate with the founder to help iterate on their startup society video pitch for this last stage before the judges' evaluation. A dedicated forum channel for each founder's society will be created in Jur's Discord community.
Step 6
Award Ceremony [ TBD ]
The judges will use the criteria in the scorecard to evaluate the video pitches and award the cash prize.
Startup Society Scorecard
Each judge will view the ten shortlisted <10min pitch videos and score each according to selective criteria.

Who can participate?
Anyone is welcome and encouraged to join this initiative.
Will Jur have any say in picking the winners?
No. The winners will be selected by the judges based on the selection criteria of determining a feasible, desirable, and viable society.
If I have any question where do I ask?
The #hangout channel in the Jur Discord community is the best place to ask questions and meet fellow Jur community members.
Do you provide any resources to help put together the pitch?
Yes. Founders will receive several resources via email following their application submission: a Founder's Handbook which serves as a framework for how to create a startup society; a Lean Society Canvas that can be used to brainstorm, collaborate, or facilitate the ideation process.
